“Two people who don’t know anything about movies, and don’t seem to pay much attention during them, run a movies review podcast, Hmmm….
One doesn’t clue into what’s going on until about 10mins in, the other seems to zone out at the end, and also tunes out whenever there’s violence.
Pretty annoying to hear two people who payed virtually no attention to what they were watching complain about how the movie doesn’t make sense.
Just listened to their review of Taxi Driver - they sat their mystified that Travis’ hair had grown back by the time of the last scene, even though (had they been paying any attention AT ALL) they would have realized a significant amount of time had passed between the last two scenes, as mentioned in the voiceover IN THAT SCENE 🙄
Also complained that the portrayal of POC in the film is racist, when the film is made from Travis’ POV, who is racist. This stuff is so basic and obvious it’s kind of hard for me to understand how two adults keep missing it.
None the less it’s kind of amusing for background noise in that “just listening to two people talk” kind of way, and the historical perspective is interesting.
There are far better film review podcasts out there, including many that are not fawning and have a feminist, modern, intersectional POV, but I still give it the occasional listen. 🤷🏻♀️”
