“Long ago I decided that I too wanted “never to be silent whenever and wherever human (and any living) beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” So I am speaking out about you and your hateful guest(s) thinking that saying humiliating, insulting and derogatory things about your fellow human beings should have no consequences. The first amendment was NEVER written to protect the right to spread lies and hate. The founders, perhaps naively, thought it to be a given that Americans aspired to supposed “Christian” (actually universal) values like “Love thy neighbour” and “treat others as you would have them treat you”. The amendment was an inbuilt protection against the possibility of a corruption of the power of GOVERNMENT leading to suppression of its citizens. Stop hiding your lies and vitriol behind it! Are you not parents? Don’t you teach your children that there are consequences to the things they do and say? What a joke that you frame people acting to enforce “acceptable behaviour” as SILENCING you!!!?? Only it’s not funny. It is infecting the rest of the world and encouraging others to be hateful, and I for one will not stand by and be silent while you do that…”
