“When I first tuned in to this podcast, tears of relief welled up in my eyes, as my famished spirit tasted real food. I had been starving for sober-minded dialog among believers, and Tuggy’s platform proved to be a taste of what is needed to satisfy the gnawing hunger in the spirit of the Christian, spurring him on to seek out brothers of like Christian faith with whom he can wrestle over the scriptures, as it is written, ‘As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.’ Three points of constructive secondary feedback: I find Tuggy’s use of ‘thinking music’ interludes to be unhelpfully distracting, and so I try to skip ahead to minimize cognitive distraction; I believe the podcast could be improved by replacing the thinking music with a silent pause of a few seconds. Secondly, I find Tuggy’s choices of prerecorded scripture readings to be deficient in the area of elocution, to the point of being distracting. Finally, Tuggy often selects scripture translations that follow the modern trend toward neutral gender, sometimes at a significant cost with respect to the demonstrable purpose of the author. Many of Tuggy’s podcasts feature philosophers, theologians and apologists whose thinking is less than creditable, and while I at times find myself disagreeing with Tuggy himself on various points of scriptural application, this podcast’s rigorous engagement is the exercise that nourishes and sharpens those who are willing to be trained by it. So, thank you brother Tuggy.”
