Shallow Research leads to Shallow Reporting
I want to like this show. However, I think the host is making broad conclusions about pivotal historical moments with limited research. As a PhD student in Modern Church History I spend a LOT of time reading about the very things this show discusses. In fact, I’ve read many of the authors he has had appear on this show. And with each episode’s “moral” conclusion I find myself saying, “yeah but I don’t think you read ____ or considered ____ yet you made this moral imperative.” It irks me. Like any student we have to learn how to learn. And I believe, given more time, the host will become a better student of history. For that reason I will continue to subscribe rooting on my fellow historian. And maybe one day I can give it 5 stars.

I would recommend this to Christians and non Christian alike. It’s a good source of cultural POV.

I’m so glad I found this podcast. Each episode is like a mini documentary that gives each listener an opportunity to explore how the Bible might inform our response. Well researched, informative, and a must-listen for curious people.
