An Indonesian citizen and a permanent resident of Australia, was convicted of murdering her friend, Wayan Mirna Salihin, with cyanide-laced coffee. This event occurred in Jakarta, Indonesia, in January 2016. Jessica and Mirna were friends who had met during their college years in Sydney. The murder took place at the Olivier Cafe in Jakarta's Grand Indonesia shopping mall. Jessica arrived early to the café, ordered the drinks, including the Vietnamese iced coffee for Mirna, and positioned shopping bags to obscure the view of the drinks from security cameras. Shortly after Mirna arrived and took a sip of her coffee, she began experiencing seizure-like symptoms and was rushed to a hospital, where she later died.
