Dangerous information that is outdated on autism research
Run! This is ableist and harmful information. Not up to date with the latest neurodivergent research. Gives information that is now researched to be harmful. Is pro ABA and places blame and shame on the parents of neurodivergent children. We now know that 80% of autism is linked to genes and autism is something people are born with. You cannot simply just “turn autism around.” ABA encourages masking and for autistic people to hide who they really are. It’s a type of conversion therapy that is proven to be harmful. Autistic adults who have been through ABA are more likely to experience long term post traumatic stress symptoms and higher rates of mental health issues as adults because they are told that who they were born to be is wrong. My suggestion is to find neurodivergent affirming podcasts that are empowering and don’t place shame on the parents. There are so many other podcasts that are helpful and up to date with the latest research. Please don’t waste your time here.
