New format not good.
Used to enjoy this pod but post-hiatus I’ve decided to stop listening. I don’t like the new host, same exaggerated horror-show accent as the guy on BBC Radio Ulster at 10:30. Continual references to Gaelic “football” and the childish back and forth with the substitute pundit (post Ireland v Fiji) about some GAA nonsense they did together. It’s a rugby pod. Niamh continually referred to Joey Carberry and others “tearing it up” on the pitch, which is a nebulous phrase, particularly given that Joey Carberry couldn’t tear a page of Belfast Telegraph if his life depended on it. The participants struggle to pronounce players names correctly. An absolute butchering of Pieter-Steph du Toit’s name almost made me attempt to drive off the M3 bridge. It seems like the previous pods with Jonathan and Adam required Gareth to create the chemistry, the new format has none. I will give it a rest for a few months and come back and see if any progress has been made.

More reviews of Bel Tel Rugby
I am Connacht fan, and I really enjoy this. I try to give the pods that are province based for the other provinces a listen, just to see their take on things especially for interpro games. This is the only one of those that I keep going back to!

Great rugby podcast pity about the poor production value. Would give 5 if you got that sorted
