Description
In this episode, we welcome Jeremy Treat to the show. He is the pastor for preaching and vision at Reality LA in Los Angeles, CA, the author of several books, and an adjunct professor of theology at Biola University. Professor. He has written several books on the atonement, to include his newest book called The Atonement: An Introduction. That book is part of Crossway’s Short Studies in Systematic Theology series which is designed to equip the church to faithfully understand, love, teach, and apply what God has revealed in Scripture about a variety of theological topics. In this interview, we discuss how he went from growing up in Alaska to becoming a pastor in Hollywood, how the work of C.S. Lewis fed his hunger for theology, why he has such a deep fascination with the atoning work of Christ on the cross, what most Christians actually get wrong about the atonement, why the word “theology” scares people, how wrath and shame shape our lives, how we cannot simply “unhitch” the Old and New Testaments, why churches that don’t preach the Gospel of Christ are so dangerous, and much more. Let’s get into it… Episode notes and links HERE. Donate to support our mission of equipping men to push back darkness. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
