Entertaining and Important
At the heart of this podcast is the investigation into a murder by lynching of a charismatic, powerful and wealthy Black farmer and landowner in the 1950s. However, as it unfolds you also get an important education on the racial divide in the Deep South during the onset of the Civil Rights era. There were literally two sides to the same story and this podcast really gets to the heart of that. Its hard to reckon with the past of this country, but stories like these are important to understanding the present. I love this podcast and can’t wait for the next episode.

Takes a lot of work for journalism like this to make its way to your ears. This is no exception. Great journalism, important storytelling. Clearly the polished result of intense investigation, deep thought and constant pursuit of the next question. Tell your friends, ask more questions.

This history may be unsettling for some, but it’s important to tell these stories so that we can stop this history from repeating it self.

I grew up not too far from Marion, AR, and I’m ashamed to say I’ve never heard his story. If we truly value history and how it affects us now, we will know who Isadore Banks and the many other men and women who’ve been erased from history are.
