“Episode 38 S2: I find it hard to believe that Gubbins, a presumably well educated gentlemen, hadn’t studied the American Civil and relied solely on his experiences with Sinn Féin to build the foundation of his alleged new type of warfare. I explicitly use alleged because on the North American continent it has been used to great ends; French and Indian war, Various tribal wars, our war of independence, 1812, and especially our American Civil War; when Europe learned more than they could have possibly imagined. Ask the Boers how that worked out for them. I maintain his true and pure inspirations for guerrilla warfare most likely the innovators: Quantrill, John Hunt Morgan, Bloody Bill Anderson and to an extent, the Grey Ghost John Singleton Mosby.
I enjoy the podcast and look forward to all future episodes. Keep up the good work.”
