Listen now
Description
Jill Hassevort is a Certified Training Partner through Karen Pryor Academy and holds a BA from the University of Michigan. It was during her time at U of M that she spent a summer living with a dog (named Jack) for the first time ever. Her time with him led her to understand how amazing dogs are as a species. Later, Jill adopted a dog, an American Staffordshire Terrier, also named Jack! It was her desire to dispel the myths about his breed and provide him with the best life possible that led her to learn more about dog training and how dogs learn – bringing her to where she is today. Before making the career change to dog training, Jill taught high school Spanish. Her experience in the classroom gives her the teaching skills that she employs when working with clients. Her combination of top-notch education and real-world experience makes her the trainer you and your dog want in your corner. In this episode we discussed one of her area of expertise, Cooperative Care. This is an area that Jill is particularly passionate about and has a wealth of knowledge and experience.
