“I loved your Enos lesson regarding: “Once you feel God’s love, the next natural thing is to want that for others. First, the people that are closest to you and then others.” And how Jacob was trying to get the Nephites to stop having their own racial prejudice against the Lamanites.
I asked myself, “Who do I have prejudice against and who do I judge? Who do I resent because of today’s social fabric?” It became obvious, as I am a school teacher grappling with my requirement to honour transgender transitions and withhold the fact from parents.
But just as Jacob said about the Lamanites: Members of the LGBTQ community are generally more effective in their jobs, more active in the political sphere, more loving towards each other, and more articulate than I am, or many of my Christian Colleagues.
I do not have to subscribe to that ideology to hold a high respect and high regard for them. If I have resentment, it’s because I don’t measure up. Their moral struggle between them and the Lord.
Thank you again for what you teach. It’s okay that it’s not 6 hours long. It’s what is relevant for today. ❤️”
