This podcast fills my depleted bucket
I was raised Catholic and always practiced my faith with a grain of salt, a sprinkle of doubt. I felt a deep calling to understand God beyond a worldly version. I used to explain to my kids that the Bible was like a complicated game of telephone where there were many iterations of the Word translated and transmuted for what this world wanted to hear over time. Then the pandemic entered the scene and it was as good a reason as any to step away from the church physically and conceptually. My family and I now practice in a house church (of Catholics) but I feel unfinished, like this is just a pause in my journey. I share this because this podcast has been tremendous in cutting through the fat of organized religion and letting me chew on the marrow of what matters. I love that I don’t come from the same faith background as Lauren, yet a feel such a spiritual kinship to her spiritual wrangling. For the person who wants to go deeper, think broader, challenge assumptions, and be better, this podcast is for us.

Don’t...Read full review »
