“I’ve spent a lot of time listening to most podcasts on design during the world’s longest lockdown (Melbourne, Australia), and User Defenders is one of the best.
The content coming out of the User Defenders podcast from Jason and his guests has provided me with amazing insights and inspiration during pivotal moments in my development as a product designer since beginning my career in Feb 2020.
All episodes are unique in story, content and guests - while consistently feeing relevant, relatable and memorable. The discussions on this podcast has continuously prompted me to evaluate and evolve my thinking in how to approach the technical and personal challenges a career in design can have.
I share a lot of podcast recommendations with colleagues. When I share User Defenders episodes, I hear back from the other people within the week that ‘it was the best thing [they’ve] listened to’ or that they’re now ‘a little bit obsessed’. The discussions from the podcast have been influential enough within my own design team that episodes have been referenced in design crits and reviews!
The influence Jason’s episodes has on a relatively mature design team ranging from Juniors to Snr Design Managers highlights how accessible, wide-ranging and relatable the content is.
Looking forward to more content to come in 2022.”
