A Brilliant Podcast
I’m roughly ages with you guys and also have many good memories of this World Cup, and some bad ones given that Scotland were out early. The attention given to all groups and stages of the tournament is testament to the feeling you have for it. There were lots of little details forgotten that were relived, and some new ones learned (Maradona’s wedding car !). This is an amazing piece of work and I’ve spent October/November driving to and from work engrossed by it all. My bank balance is recovering as I’ve now bought both John Ludden books plus both versions of Pete Davies’ & Simon Hart’s. I’ve also tracked down DVDs that have recorded highlights of the tournament. I’ve got many more hours left before I’ve exhausted enjoying this festival of football. Many thanks for the time spent in researching this and the range of contributors used, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it all. Any fan of football will love this, I can’t recommend it highly enough.

This is just magnificent. The ugliest of World cups presented in a beautiful way, put into historical context and full of great stories and details.

An English kid living in Germany (West) at the time, you can imagine the heartache. A lot of work has...Read full review »
