The Impact of Telehealth on Patient Access and Equity
Listen now
Description
Dr. Eric Shah welcomes Dr. Christopher Velez from Massachusetts General Hospital for a discussion on equal access to better healthcare for historically marginalized patient groups. While it may not always be intentional, Dr. Velez highlights some key factors from his research that can affect the experience some patients may have at their healthcare facilities, even discouraging them to attend routine check ups. Dr Shah and Dr Velez discuss the ways virtual care appointments may be a solution, as well as some of the barriers to entry providers should consider.
