Worst podcast ever
This work “reads” like something written by a misogynistic 14 year-old. The characters are poorly developed, two-dimensional pseudo-medieval stereotypes. They are as unimaginable as they are dull. In general, the men are driven by greed and an emotionally stunted lust for control. Given that we’re also not given any but the most cursory description of their looks, manners of movement or expressions, I found them as charming as someone else’s whiny toddler - several hours after its bedtime. Then there’s the women. They’re the smallest bit easier to see, if only because they are all described as beautiful. (Not impressed by the misogynistic double standard there.) Beyond that, they too are impossible to identify with. They’re apparently only concerned with the men they love, the babies they’ve born, and how to use a man to gain status and wealth. Oh, and sometimes a woman needs to be protected, but only by, and because of, the actions of a man. Seriously, your average teen Werewolf novel is more relatable. There is one ugly stereotype I’m actually curious about, however. When I picture the author in my head, he’s seems right out of a 1970’s era Polaroid. I see a boy in his early teens sitting in Mum & Dad’s basement, scribbling away in a notebook in between bouts of D&D and wanking. Sadly this basement contains few books, no literature, and certainly no one who’s ever heard of the Bechdel Test. The whole podcast is just plain offensive.
