Hit or miss
Historically this is a good (and unique) podcast. However what makes it good - the unorthodox style and mentality of the host (John) - is a double edged sword. When John is clearly depressed or anxious, the podcast is almost unlistenable. And unfortunately that appears to have been the case lately. When this happens, it is apparent he’s going through the motions and it is an unpleasant experience as a listener. I recommend listening to the archive prior to 2021. Any of his marathon (3 hour+) episodes is a classic. He’s engaged, funny and much less cynical. Cynicism is fine, but this has basically been the only theme in recent episodes.

Been a fan of reviewbrah since 2012/2013 and love his musings, he is the most inspirational person that I have heard and it’s a pleasure to finally be able to hear him on ITunes. If your reading this and enjoy slice of life podcasts, this is it!
