Good, if you have time and patience
Bulliet is a good speaker and wanders at his own pace through the topic. One lecture will be about camel saddling techniques, then theology, then cotton irrigation and climate change. Just don't expect much of an organised structure or clear progression.

More reviews of W3710 History of Iran to the Safavid Period
This class by Professor Richard Bulliet, has been the most unbiased, comprehensive and yet entertaining narration of history of Iran and Islam that I ever encountered, and I'm an Iranian PhD student highly interested in the history of my country.

This series is an unedited recording of the course lectures. The content is great but our narrator is on the hoof and the audibility varies as he paces.
