Spencer is from Murrysville, Pennsylvania and attended Franklin Regional High School. He was a Cadet World Champ, and the Top ranked pound-for-pound wrestling recruit in the country when he committed to the Hawkeyes. At Iowa he went on to be a 5 time All American, 3 time NCAA Champ, and 2 time Dan Hodge Trophy winner, amongst numerous other accolades, accomplishments, and awards. We got to sit down with Spencer 2 months out from his first Olympic appearance and talk shop.
