True talk story
Lauren and Dave have created a platform that has allowed their guests to truly open up by beginning each episode with a beautifully simply open-ended question. One of the best episodes so far, for me, was Mary Setterholm’s interview. Her stories left me reeling and exposed a whole side of surfing history that has been so deeply blanketed and buried by the overwhelming male dominance that has been flexing its muscle since surfing culture became public. I love they way they handle tough subjects and the way they make their guests feel comfortable enough to open up. My favourite podcast at the moment. Thank you, L and D! (PS-I have an almost 2 year old, and also had a traumatic birth. I love their honesty when it comes to parenthood, especially the sleep deprivation. PPS-Go buy and read She Surf, right now!)
