“[Updated Review] Happy they added David as a 3rd guest, he brings a lot more energy and spark to the Marques and Andrew dynamic that felt a little stale in the beginning. Also having the 2 producers (?) chime in every once in a while is great. Way better chemistry all around. Much more interesting and fun to listen to. Perfect at 1.5x speed. The video podcast is so great it’s difficult to listen knowing I’m missing that.
[Original Review] Really needs a third guest, or someone with just more energy. Both hosts are very stable speakers that are that missing diametric chemistry of a sensible host + a more aggressive host (ie. Dieter vs Nilay on the Vergecast, Linus vs Luke on WAN Show). Just feels boring, they’re reading the news and giving generic opinions. Production on the accompanying videos is great. I just find Vergecast to give profoundly better insights into tech, but to be fair MKBHD in general gives more vanilla opinions for the masses while on Quinn (SnazzyLabs) & Dave (Dave2D) are more nuanced. Podcasts should be the front for unique behind the scenes insights, not generic news, save that for videos.”
