“Really enjoyed this episode. I grew up in Harlow and talking with friends who also grew up there, it’s only now that we realise how revolutionary it was. Families moved to Harlow through a variety of employers and had employment and their own house. Second generation Harlowites could apply for a council flat, and many got one - unheard of nowadays. Unfortunately the town is now run down with a poor reputation and very limited public housing as it was all sold off.”
