WLS patient gives this podcast 5 stars!!!
I’m so glad I googled “best WLS podcasts” and found this as the top recommendation. So far I’ve enjoyed it immensely and identified with so much in it. I’m a little over a year out from VSG surgery, which was extremely successful. In fact, my surgery was beyond-my-wildest-dreams successful. Starting BMI of almost 43. Current BMI a little less than 23. 100% of excess weight lost (average is 60% lost) and feeling like a new person with a new lease on life. I’m training for a half marathon and have incorporated Pilates into my life multiple times a week. My surgeon said to me at my one-year check-up “well, now that you’re an athlete...” Hah! Athlete? Me? I enter year 2 post-surgery knowing that the honeymoon is over and maintenance is a real challenge. It seems that people I know who have had WLS or who I have met through my surgeon’s local support group have all seriously struggled with regain. I will be scrolling through older episodes to see if this topic has been addressed!
