“Genuine question: Does anybody edit this podcast? Whether for content or time (or both), somebody needs to.
The podcast producers (who I recognize from the Scrubs podcast I stopped listening to) are a joke. Episodes are way way too long. And awkward. In one episode, there’s a long discussion of Kevin Spacey, and Lamorne un-ironically tells a guest that Hannah is absent because she doesn’t like that guest. As a person.
The segments they’ve created in order to provide structure also need editing. The hosts spend time chitchatting and basically recap the episode, and then the “radio voice recap” happens, and repeats everything they just said. One time, they were deciding which version of True American they wanted to play. They read the set ups for two different games “on air”. Then they decided, and they reread the intro to the one they picked as if nothing had happened, because they were expecting a producer to actually do their job.
Not every actor is born to be a podcast host. Perhaps none of these actors were. But, there are people behind the scenes who are paid to mold and shape egotistical ramblings into some kind of product worth listening to. These ones just took the money and ran. They hang the talent, and the listener, out to dry.”
