“First, I should say that New Girl is one of my favorite shows. It’s the first TV show that I watched when I was in college and was on my own for the first time. At the time I was an aspiring teacher who identified a lot with Jess. All this to say, New Girl is a big part of my growing up story. Therefore, I cannot stand this podcast. The way the actors don’t take the show seriously infuriates me. There are many episodes where Zooey literally says, “Oh I didn’t watch this one.” And on the episode “See Ya”, where they interview Elizabeth Meriwether, they answer one fan question and spend the rest of the episode pointing out all the mistakes in editing and such. Look, if you don’t want to do the podcast, then don’t. Stop leading us on like it’s going to get better. It’s not. I’ve tried.”
