“I’ve been a loyal listener for months, but I cannot continue to remain quiet. I am a patient. I am caregiver to an elderly family member. I have an MPH in Policy. I am working towards an MD. I really, really want to like this show, especially with the strong female leads, but the bias and lies about physicians are too much. In the past 10 years, I have learned good health policy requires the inclusion of physicians, specifically primary care. We’re the ones trying to come up with creative ways to help patients get basic services. What this show calls an “industry to drive up healthcare costs” is from our perspective a navigator for how to effectively bill for the services we are already providing at a loss and how to get coverage for our patients to services they cannot afford out of pocket. Good health policy requires an understanding of the policy, the provider, the patient, and the payor. This program nails one out of four. :-(”
