Description
Last week's episode with Howie Mandel opened our eyes to some of the stigmas surrounding mental health, especially those who suffer from OCD. So, we decided to go a little deeper to understand the disorder and invited someone who really understands it. Alegra Kastens not only specializes in OCD, but also struggles with it as well. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist who specializes in OCD and other anxiety disorders. She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and her clinical work focuses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure & Response Prevention, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness skills training for adults, adolescents, and children. Alegra is the Founder of the Center for OCD, Anxiety and Eating Disorders.  There are a lot of misconceptions about OCD and in this episode we go in depth about the symptoms and what those who suffer from this debilitating disorder go through. Plus, some coping skills and thoughts on treatment.  See our Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and our California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
