“The host is good when interviewing other enthusiasts but becomes a total PR shill when around industry guests. The Lagavulin episode featuring a Diageo promotional bimbo who struggled to name two unpeated Diageo Classic Malts and an instagrammer who considers Lagavulin to be at the lighter end of the peat spectrum was a particular trainwreck. The host also absolutely butchered facts like stating that Lagavulin 16 is vatted from refill sherry casks (Diageo doesn’t disclose the composition) and that there is a Jazz festival on Islay called Feis Ile (those are completely separate festivals). All the while, the official Diageo representative only called him out on one of the many lies which was when he said Oban was on an island.”
