““Not even the best one”? Lies! Humble lies!
“Who Talks First” is easily my favorite (mostly) Star Wars podcast out there; don’t be fooled by that inside “not even the best one” joke because they certainly are among the best.
CT and Solo are witty, charming, genuine, and naturally hilarious. If you’re someone who enjoys the plot and character aspects of storytelling and world-building, then this is the podcast for you. Much of their charm comes from how knowledgeable they are about the Star Wars universe and the art of storytelling.
They constantly demonstrate an understanding of character motivations and the SW universe as a whole. I love when they make big-picture references to mythology and other literature while exploring the themes of Star Wars. It makes every episode feel fresh and multi-dimensional. They never get stale.
Everything they like is literally everything I like. In addition to the usual SW fare, I’ve loved their podcasts on “Beauty and the Beast,” “Moana,” and “Wonder Woman.”
And as a wonderful cherry on top of the fantastic content, the hosts’ rapport with each other is, not only effortless, but natural in a way that invites the listener in on the topic. Each episode feels more like a conversation between friends rather than hosts just relegating the listener to someone to be talked at. They make you feel like you’re actually welcome.
Never has nerdy-ness been more fun and relatable. Quite frankly, their enthusiasm is contagious; if you’re not excited at the beginning of an episode, they will make you excited.
In conclusion, they may call themselves the Knights of Rant, but they certainly have a lot of important things to say. Hope to keep listening to you guys for a long, long time!”
