In June, over 33 Lesbian mothers were removed off of the birth certificates of their children. Their parental rights were retroactively revoked. This week we're diving into why and how this is happening in Italy, the rise of Georgia Meloni and the far right movement in Europe. We interview Viola and Michela Leidi, who were the first couple to have one of their names removed from the birth certificate of their daughter, Giulia.
Special thanks to Sidney and Giacomo for translating this interview, and for providing more insight on queer parenthood in Italy.
In this episode we're answering the questions: Why do so many people do surrogacy in the United States? What are the best and worst places to do surrogacy in the US? Where is surrogacy legal? Where is it restricted? Where is it banned?
