Wellness expert Heather Grzych interviews author Lee Kravetz about what makes people susceptible to psychological and emotional contagion, and what creates growth and resilience. Lee discusses his book Social Contagion, where he researched a mysterious string of suicides that occurred at a high school in Silicon Valley, and why bulimia began to increase worldwide once it became more discussed in the media. He also discusses his book, SuperSurvivors, where he wrote about positive psychology and post-traumatic growth vs. post-traumatic stress. They discuss how even the mental desires of getting married and wanting a baby can be a type of social contagion, and why Heather is afraid to read books about Sylvia Plath, including Lee’s most recent work, The Last Confessions of Sylvia P.
