Heather Grzych on Religion and Fertility Today
Listen now
Description
Wellness expert Heather Grzych asks whether religion is helping or hindering fertility and reproduction today, considering that a large percentage of children today are actually born to unwed mothers. Religion and science can both shape one’s approach to their wellness, medical and even fertility journeys, including when it’s okay to have sex and who we can have sex with. While many aspects of religion may be beneficial, are they also limiting modern people? Do we still have to follow the rules of religion or our family culture and get married to have kids today? How can people build rituals for the rite of passage into becoming a parent outside of religion?  Heather Grzych, AD is an American author and expert in Ayurvedic medicine who was formerly the head of product development for a multi-billion-dollar health insurance company. She is a board-certified Ayurvedic practitioner at the Ayurvedic Doctor level, serving on the faculty at Mount Madonna Institute College of Ayurveda and on the Board of Directors for the National Ayurvedic Medical Association. Heather’s first book, The Ayurvedic Guide to Fertility, has sold thousands of copies worldwide, and her writing has been featured in Sports Illustrated, Yoga Journal, and the Sunday Independent.
