Genocide in Palestine: the war of misinformation
Listen now
Description
In this episode we’re tackling the genocide happening right now in Palestine. Since October 7th, the day of the Hamas “terrorist attack” on Israel, western media has been trying to push a specific narrative about what’s happening in Gaza, by repeating to the Grand Public that Israel has the right to defend itself under international law. But what does that mean? Who exactly does Israel have the right to defend itself against when more than 40% of people living in Gaza are under 18? What is there to defend when Palestinians do not have an army and Israel possesses one of the strongest armies in the world?   With the help of our guest Samah, a Palestinian writer living in Montreal, we explore the history of Palestine and Israel’s occupation of their land. We also address US imperialism and the connection that we must make between the Palestinian people’s struggle and other genocides like the one currently happening in Congo.   What is our role as involuntary founders of this genocide?
