“I’m 46 years old and I’ve been dating for two years since my marriage of 17 years ended.
When I take something on, like dating, I study day and night. I relentlessly practice. I fall off the horse and get right back in the saddle. I take pride in learning from my mistakes, shifting my perception, recognizing familiar patterns, staying optimistic and acknowledging how far I’ve come. I love a good aha moment! Nothing makes me feel more accomplished than finally resolving a familiar dating obstacle and gaining the confidence that comes from knowing that when you know better, you do better!
To me, that’s what Amber’s podcast embodies. She builds upon what I’ve been learning for the last 2 years, how to be authentic, remain as calm and rational as possible, not take things personally, trust your intuition, ask yourself if this feels good, learn and grow and be proud of the hard work you’re putting in, because it’s worth it!
I really like her use of metaphors like over watering the plant, the Ivy League school, the auditorium full of men, the bag of marbles, etc. I find it helpful to step out of dating for a moment and imagine other scenarios in which something makes perfect sense and then relate that back to dating.
I’ve never written a review before. Ever. But I wanted to support someone I felt was supporting me in the way I need to be supported. She’s also so compassionate with callers. Sometimes I want to scream at the caller because they keep making excuses for someone who overall makes them feel small, but she never talks down to them. She asks open ended questions until they finally get to the core of their own truth. It’s a beautiful thing.”
