This year marks the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the United States. Looking back, the two countries have had their ups and downs along the way. However, people-to-people exchanges remain resilient, despite the tensions. People in the academe, for example, have been in touch with each other. Scott Kennedy, from the Center for Strategic and International Studies, is one active promoter of the two-way communication. He was the first to lead an academic delegation to visit China after the pandemic.
