“The dual conceit the hosts have here is that they are discussing issues in a random, out of order manner, and that they don’t really know much about the characters, creators, or topics that they talk about. It can be frustrating for audiences who are baffled by the perceived obliviousness of the hosts. Similarly, I grit my teeth when the hosts neglect to talk about beautiful pages of art but DO gush over advertisements (accompanied by alarms) over mundane crap like bubble gum.”
