Bunce at his best
These pods really are fantastic. Bunce has managed to cram an incredible amount or detail and colour into what are, on average, around 20min pods. Although I was aware of the lineage of the title from the time covered (1960-1969 at point of writing) Steve manages to bring it alive by building the picture of the scene at that time and going into just enough detail about the contenders and champions to inform without going full biographical. The point about Ali being the pivotal fighter in linking 70 years of the title is a fantastically well observed point and the subject and format of the pods really bring out the best of Bunce as a boxing historian. Dare I say, shades even of the late great Bert Sugar in the telling. Well done, Buncey. Well done, son.
