“Alhamdu lillah. May Allah increase the sheikh in knowledge and protect him. I believe the sheikh has a more balanced approach to teaching the deen. I especially appreciated his lecture on wiping over the socks. I had read that the madhaahib were unanimous on only wiping over leather socks. The sheikh presented the position of Ibn Qudamah who was the leading Hanbali scholar of his time. Just to sum, Ibn Qudāmah’s books are the leading Hanbali fiqh books taught today and are even taught at Ummul Qura in Saudia Arabia. Umdah Fil Fiqh being the starting book and Al-Mughni being the most advanced. He was of the position that one could wipe over cloth socks. This means that one of the four madhaahib did accept wiping over cloth socks. The sheikh, in my opinion being balanced, was willing to share this information with us. May Allah reward him, give him Tawfiq and protect him.
