Awful. Absolutely awful. Listened to every episode. Andy is the epitome of more money than sense and Richard has the charm of an industrial estate car park on Christmas Day. Also, the way in which they speak to local people is so unbelievably patronising you’d swear the podcast was recorded...Read full review »

For such a fascinating topic area, this really was the most boring podcast to listen to.. so much waffle and filler that was irrelevant.. I spent the whole time wishing they would get to the point.. not engaging at all.. I would rather watch paint dry than continue to listen to this.

Throughly enjoyed this lovely journey into a long held mystery. I remember the famous footprint photograph as a child and this brought that sense back. A shame that so many people politicise their review. It’s just a really enjoyable listen. Well researched through and through.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed this series. I happened to come across it when searching for resources for my daughters interest in mythological creatures and she loves it. I liked the fact that there is a balanced approached to investigating eye-witness accounts and local mythology with...Read full review »

Don’t listen to all the negative people complaining about bbc funding etc. they clearly care and there is great journalism taking place here. Sounds like it cost the a lot of personal funds/time. Great listen and really enjoyed

I stumbled on this brilliant and unusual podcast and binged it during the Thanksgiving preparations. It’s SO WELL DONE. This podcast does everything right: beautifully produced, intelligently narrated, fascinating subject, tastefully presented. Absolutely one of the best, yet seems like very...Read full review »

This is purely a vanity project for the presenters involved. I am really quite angry that public money was wasted here. Steer well clear.

It is a very interesting podcast that is trying to be… a mystery? A comedy? A scientific exploration? It is interesting to listen to the journey and the witness accounts are probably the ones that save it. Do the presenters come across as ignorant? Sure! But it adds to the content rather than...Read full review »

Outrageously bad podcast. Two men from the overpaid privileged elite (with no actual competency in making a podcast, let alone ‘investigating’ something) waltz about Nepal like viceroys from the British Raj, patronising the living daylights out of everyone they come across, not least the podcast...Read full review »

Really enjoyed listening to this - would love to see the Yeti (too?) one day 🎉 I particularly enjoyed the emphasis on local stories and expertise.

Couple of posh, privately educated guys convince the BBC, and therefore the tax payer, to pay for them to go on an extended global jolly with no results other than a relaxing way to fall asleep.

This is an interesting topic for a podcast and overall it is pretty well put together. I do feel that the material is spread quite thinly. Perhaps four or five episodes would have sufficed. I was taken aback when reading some of the reviews. Honestly, these personal attacks are unnecessary and...Read full review »

This is a lighthearted and enjoyable podcast - I think some of the reviews are a little harsh!

Agree with many of the comments here. I gave up after two episodes; posh rich white men patronising all those they encounter trying to decide if they ‘believe’ their information or not. The world has moved on for many except the commissioning editors at the BBC…

Not really ground breaking and for the most part boring. The hosts seem void of any personality. Their attempts at humour we’re embarrassing. Don’t waste your precious time listening to this podcast.

This was good. My only criticism is that the podcast has the issue that it try’s to be both serious and humorous and does not quite hit the mark.

Good production values; absurdly manipulative story where a Mulder/Scully duo traipse over the Himalayas looking for the wilderness version of an urban legend. Just when you hope Mulder finally has the evidence he needs to hang up his obsession and get a real job, there’s another manufactured...Read full review »

Within the first few minutes of the podcast Andy reveals that his inspiration for his yeti search came from a 1955 book “The Sherpa and the Snowman”. What we have here is a podcast which feels the influence of a by gone era. It’s an exploration of not only the region but the myth of the yeti and...Read full review »

Lovely music, and very good sound production. However, these 2 presenters are the epitome of patronising Westerners. I doubt very much that they are friends, the glee in Richard’s voice every time Andy got another disappointment was palpable. By episode 6 I found myself hoping they’d be eaten by...Read full review »

I think a few reviewers here picked up on the odd accented, broken English adopted by the main podcaster, when speaking with Nepalese and Tibetan locals. I had to switch it off because I was cringing so hard. I can’t understand why this wasn’t pointed out to him during recording. It’s very...Read full review »

I initially decided downloading this podcast due to the very sketchy reviews. So many bad ones in a short space of time really put me off, but then I finally relented and really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed this podcast. The conversational tone steadily drew me in as I got to know the characters and their backstory, which really added to the main story. This is wonderfully researched and views the Yeti from some unexpected angles. More yeti, please!

I’m not liking the condescending tone of one of the researchers towards the local people who tell the stories of the yeti - how does he know they aren’t true ? Just a westerner I’m better & know more than you mindset -

Really problematic and deeply disappointing. Much more interested in falling out with each other than the real subject at hand. Condescending and rude to local people, as patronising as colonial officials of the 1920s. Ignore a whole village worth of encounters, but two good Western chaps walk...Read full review »

Good storytelling of an interesting topic. The soundscapes are very immersive. I couldn’t stop listening! I would recommend to anyone looking for an adventure to get lost in. I appreciated Andy and Richard’s consideration of local socio-cultural perspectives.

Having travelled to the Himalayas, this captured my imagination. It’s narrated by a yeti-mad adventurer and his more sceptical friend who attempt to prove the Yeti exists. I thought it was determined and ambition, the yeti is a hard thing to find/ locate? I love the diary entries, also having believer and skeptic. All in all very well done, but if I may point you to the witch podcast? Have a listen it was amazing! You done good guys! Hat off to you!

I’m really loving this podcast. It builds lots of drama, and challenges the listener to consider that the yeti might be real. I really like how the focus is the stories of people and cultures in the Himalayas. The dynamic between Andy the believer and Richard the sceptic is really well done.

The real mystery for me was how the two Yeti hunters managed to squeeze ten episodes out of content that was hard pressed to fill three. How the BBC were persuaded to commission this is possibly even more of a mystery. Yeti another example of licence payers money wasted.

Bit of an odd one, this. Interesting subject matter but it’s essentially two charmless men going on a not very well-produced flight of fancy.
