Ethical Use of Social Media
Thank you ladies for an exceptional talk. I am from Perth, Western Australia fairly new to the teaching world but I have been practicing for many years. Since trying to launch my yoga business full time I have been challenged with trying to use social media, because it has never felt right for me. However people keep pushing me down the Instagram and Facebook marketing avenues, saying this is where and how I need to market myself. Whilst in the meantime I frantically try find teachers that are successful without social media to see how they have done it and prove it is possible. Even through a yoga coaching program the I am doing it is all about Facebook pages, groups and “followings” to the generate Facebook ads & transformational programs. It has gotten me to the point where I want to quit and give up. Thinking that if yoga is perceived as this and showing myself off in pretty places, doing poses and saying some wisdom about life or a quote then I don’t want a part of it because to me that is not what it is about. Listening to this talk has restored my faith to keep finding other ways to advocate for yoga, keeping true to myself and not letting the false powers of social media dedicate my success or failures. Thank you !!! Please let me know when or if you both come to Australia.

Yoga therapy for pain, including both physical and emotional. Interesting concepts like working from the bottom up, and the top down, so that we encompass all aspects of yoga. Experiencing what it’s like to connect to ourselves, and in turn, to one another.
