abliest episode with gary gulman
as an autistic person, pete, who claims to have many people in his life ‘on the spectrum’, nonetheless displays ignorance and ableism and a complete lack of understanding of what autism actually is, and commits all the stereotypical (wrong) ideas about autistic folk for the sake of comedy. what he says is typical of people who fall into the dunning-kruger trap. his tendency to try to say all people are aspects of the same being is ignorant and disrespectful. he needs to do better as someone with some level of reach and influence. he also regularly uses white mens takes on various eastern religions as his authorities on the subjects rather than going to actual sources within the culture.
