An Approachable Portal to the Classics
I fancy myself to be somewhat more well-read than many my age, but a lot of my knowledge gaps are in the classics. This is where Spencer comes in. By breaking down once-daunting titles like The Iliad, misunderstood biblical books like Isaiah, and masterpieces spawned by historical events, I feel as though I can approach these titles with enough understanding to really glean a lot from them. With his smooth delivery and mastery of the topics he covers, this is sure to be a mainstay in my podcast rotation. Save the Klavan!

More reviews of Young Heretics
Recommended to modern students denied appreciation of Western thought and literary tradition. Be warned. You might find yourself reading just to relieve the curiosity Klavan awakens in you. Anticipating the next episode!

Smart, cogent and interesting man, regardless of political leanings

The maiden voyage of this podcast includes a breakdown and recitation of the Iliad (partial) in its original tongue. Absolutely loved it and am hoping more episodes continue this. Episode one set a high bar - I’m psyched for episode two!
