“Very practical advice for pet dog owners. However I’m not sure why the LLW episode goes over techniques that don’t actually inform the dog what we’d like them to do and how to earn reinforcement. Yo-yo walking, changing direction and having the dog sit every x number of feet are not really teaching them much; they’re the dog avoiding something they don’t want. The jumping and biting as well; why use extinction in a stinky way? Loads better than CM, but still a lot of allowing the dog to rehearse unwanted behaviors and then interrupting, redirecting, using extinction, and P-. We know better and can do better by our dogs!”
