“”Fear and opportunity are one and the same” - no.
“So are safely and regret” - again, no. Safety - noun: the condition of being safe from undergoing or causing hurt, injury, or loss. Regret - noun: a feeling of sadness, repentance, or disappointment over something that has happened or been done.
Negative self-talk was not invited into my life by my me. It was imposed on me as a young child and adolescent. After years of hearing that you are not good enough or can’t do anything right. Your ‘self’ and subconscious kind of takes it all in even if your ego knows better. So yes he lost me right there. 30 seconds into this action thriller movie inspired monologue, re-quoting century old wisdom and common sense sayings into sport metaphors.
“Feeling lost or down is normal, but staying down is a choice”. - How about I wield a crow bar to your knee and then tell you to get up. You’ll have lots of choices on what to do but I’ll call the ambulance, you explicit idiot. I guess walking properly for the next few weeks is a choice too.
How about “fight, flight or freeze” instead. Healing through reconnection with your body and mind. All a natural part of the human experience, and with no need for a crow bar to prove a point in regard to the way you choose to push your own lack of maturity and ignorance on people. Sit down, be humble. That’s a choice.”
