It really shouldn’t work…
…but it just does. I’ve followed ZDG (which is an absolutely dreadful name for a cricket podcast) pretty much since it started. It’s one of those that I look forward to popping into my phone, and I usually make time to listen to it very soon thereafter. This, therefore is a recommendation. I was familiar with Dan and Finny’s work but new to Toby, who, it turns out is a great chairman. I loved watching Stephen Finn bowl, I enjoy his punditry on the BBC, and his somewhat miserable persona on the pod is very amusing. Toby Tarrant is quick witted, knows a good bit about cricket in his own way, and seems to be one of those interestingly self-deprecating egomaniacs perfect for hosting and DJing jobs. He’s very likeable. And Daniel Norcross is Daniel Norcross, so you have some and no idea of what you’re about to get at any given moment. So, three disparate people with a very peculiar chemistry get together firstly to insult one another as much as possible, and then proceed to talk about cricket engagingly and knowledgeably. I love it. It really shouldn’t work but it just does.

More reviews of Zero Ducks Given
Notwithstanding the occasional excessive alcohol consumption by one of their number, these chaps are interesting and engaging, including even in respect of cricket.

Was going to give it 4 stars as per Wisden 2010 cricketers of the year, however didn’t want to upset Finny anymore than he already is. Great podcast chaps 👍
