“I enjoy listening to Mac and all of her interesting guests! I was particularly moved by the podcast about the horrible circumstances surrounding the lynching episode. This was a story that needed to be told.
This past episode about Gander actually moved me to tears about the kindness and overwhelming support given by the wonderful people of Gander! The story about the little girls with cancer was an absolute tearjerker. My daughter was diagnosed with ALL leukemia at the age of 12, two days after 911. I remember thinking how can I ask God for help for my little girl when so many people were destroyed by evil.
I’ve been in the trenches with our cancer heroes and know and experienced the cancer journey with kids. For those little girls who were terminally ill, not getting to go to Disney World would have been devastating. But for an entire town equipped with goofy mascots to make their stay so delightful makes my heart sing. When the little girl girl told her daddy that is was okay shows the spirit and resilience of our lil heroes.
I was so moved (aka sobbing) that I actually looked up info and thought about going to Gander. Alas it is 17 hours by airplane.
Mac….. can a gal from Kentucky be one of your zone 7 buddies?!? Also, if you go to Gander give me a holler and I’ll meet you there!
Love your sassy and spunky attitude!
