Life-giving!!!
I started listening to your podcast from the beginning the other day. It has rocked my world. I have a 1 month old baby, a 2 yr old, and an almost 5 year old. After giving birth, I was feeling like such a “bad” mom. My kids constantly cried out demands and I felt like I was falling on a treadmill. Sending my kids outdoors (and myself with them) has changed everything. When normally I’d be hit with requests to change Barbie’s outfit, settle disputes over art supplies, and manage whose turn it is with the magna doodle; you can imagine my relief when I only hear giggles and cooperation as they mix nature potions, chase chickens with armfuls of leaves, and play intense games of hide and seek- ALL without me having to organize it. Your podcast is LIFEGIVING because it has given me sooo much permission to let go and stop being a “be careful!” Mom. I’ve started trusting my kids and the world and I’ve let go of this need to hover over my children constantly. I’m nursing my infant and watching from a lawn chair as I type this, your new book at my side:) It’s November in Michigan but we are living life outdoors!
