These two are a terrific team! Good to hear the perspective of experienced investigators.

The stories are interesting, but it’s very clear she’s reading from a script. It feels clunky and unnatural. Scripted banter between 2 people is really bad. It doesn’t sound like a natural conversation.

These two are awesome but the scripting does them no favors. Be yourselves. Its gotten a little better but reading a script I think does you guys an injustice. Perhaps following an outline and being yourselves. Be you, You are worth it!

Thank both of you for presenting these cases with the detail and occasional humor that keeps us glued to the story. Thank you!

These are two of the coolest people in their natural environment.. they need to let their personalities shine through and stop reading a script!!

Oof
The fake conversational style is wholly unlistenable.

After listening to the second episode of the Jacob Landin story, I’m walking out of this bad Todd McComas comedy show. And Jessica, she’s an enabler. It’ll be a pleasure to unsubscribe to this podcast and move on to something worth my time.

Like the show and content but…the delivery is a bit off for me. Particular parts of the pre scripted humor was painfully uncomfortable for me..I almost turned it off. That same particular comment seemed insensitive to the surviving family as well. However..I am very glad you two are out there as...Read full review »

If someone described a podcast as a combo of humorous banter and true crime, I wouldn’t imagine a show that’s actually sensitive and fair about covering real (possible) murders - but The Investigators manages to walk that line.

Just started to listed to The Investigators and it’s a great one. I enjoy hearing these stories from the host point of view of Todd and Jessica - the 2 sides of the coin here being the detective and the journalist. “Jesus, Stepson of Joseph.” Might be the best line I have ever heard… I don’t normally listen to try crime, but Todd brought me along for the ride a few years ago with his 10-41 podcast. A great show to get into the genre.

What a refreshing podcast! Lori’s story was presented genuinely, with empathy, and with facts.
