“Dr. Bob Heil K9EID is a legend in concert sound AND amateur radio! His innovations have benefited both fields greatly, and it doesn't hurt that he's a nice. humble man, too! The history, stories and anecdotes as told by someone who witnessed the development of 'arena rock' are priceless! I have been a fan of The Who and Peter Frampton since my high school years (1974-1978), a singing drummer beginning in 1976, and a ham radio operator (N5ASH) since 2010. I own microphones made by Heil Sound: a PR30 for voiceover work, a PR22 stage vocal mic, and an ICM for my Icom 718 ham radio rig. They are wonderful in each application. This podcast series is my favorite, along with "Ham Nation" at twit.tv!”
